Campaign Story

Ever since, I have started working under PULSES, all my family is very happy) JAB SE (MAINE PULSES UNIT ME KAAM KARNA SHURU KIYA HAI TAB SE MERE PATI OR GHAR WALE BAHUT KHUSH HAI), says Kanchan, one of the entrepreneur women who is running a pulses based enterprises at Village Agucha, Bhilwara, Rajasthan. Manjari Foundation facilitated her to establish the enterprises.

Kanchan being one of the vulnerable amongst other women from her Self-help Group (SHG), was struggling with the uncertainty of her life until she joined the village-based enterprise and started supporting her family with the monthly family income of ₹5000/-. Not only she improved her life standard while earning for her family including her bed ridden husband but also inspired other women to follow her steps in the battle against poverty.

68.8% of the Indian population lives on less than $2 a day. Over 30%, falling under extremely poor section, even have less than $1.25 earning per day. This makes the Indian subcontinent one of the poorest countries in the world; women and children falling in the weakest section of Indian society, suffers the most.

We, at Manjari, are striving to transform a self-reliant community through creating a platform of opportunities where the potential of under privileged women can be unleash and they can grow as a entrepreneur. We believe this will help them to come out from poverty and will pave forward to lead a dignified life.  As of now, we have built the capacities and promoted more than 2000 micro enterprises owned and managed by women themselves. To build the entrepreneurship capabilities and helping them to set up micro enterprise requires INR 10000 minimum. In the next three years, we aim to develop 3000 micro enterprises in a sustainable model across our project locations.

There are many Kanchan across rural India who needs your small support to create a large difference at their lives and the entire community. Your small contribution would create a large impact in the uplift of their lives. We need your contribution to serve the most marginalized section escape from the claw of poverty.
